ö   We strive to bring you the finest quality candles.  Using pure paraffin with no additives and 100% pure fragrance oils.  This ensures a strongly scented candle that is long lasting and clean burning with virtually no waste.  In order to get the best results from your Stray Cat Candle, please read and follow candle-burning safety and instructions.

ö   Always burn candles safely, keeping lighted candles away from children and pets.  Never, ever leave a burning candle unattended.

ö   We have taken precautions to properly wick our candles.  Stray Cat Candles are made using FDA approved, zinc-core wicks.  That is the piece of wire you’ll see in your candle wick.  Lead core wicks are not available to buy in the USA. (Beware of the stuff made in China!)  To avoid soot and ensure the longest lasting candle, ALWAYS trim your wick to ¼ inch before relighting.  This will provide you with the least amount of soot (if any!) and make your candles last longer.  Trim your wick with a “wick trimmer” or scissors, and then shake out the trimmings from the jar.  If you do get any soot, you can simply wipe the inside of the jar with a dry paper towel.  This will help keep the candle clean and nice looking to the bottom of the jar!

ö   When burning your candle, make sure the top of the jar is completely liquid before it is extinguished.  This promotes even burning and prevents burning a hole down the center of the candle.  This also extends the life of the candle.

ö   Keep your wick centered and away from the side of the glass.  Wicks can become off-centered after use.  If that should happen, simply maneuver the wick to the center.

ö   Do not allow a jar candle to burn completely down to the bottom.  Stop about ½ inch from the bottom.  The large size candle (16-oz.) will burn approximately 80 hours, if burned properly.  The small size (8-oz.) will burn around 40 hours.
